Providing young people the platform to achieve and the ability to realize their potential for greatness.

The Walter Latham Foundation will host the 3rd Annual Ervin Outlaw Plum Bowl at the Jaycee Park football fields in Greensboro, NC on November 5, 2011.

JV Peewee and Mite football teams from all Greensboro recreation centers are set to participate in this community event that raises money for college scholarships. The event, named after Ervin Outlaw, grandfather and mentor of Walter Latham, gives young football players a college bowl game experience! “You’ve heard of the Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl etc for college football, well now there’s the Plum Bowl for youth recreation football,” said Yulonda Smith, Executive Director. “The kids that participate get the college bowl game experience complete with swag bags and a coveted trophy!”

The event brought more than 2,000 out last year and organizers are anticipating a bigger crowd this year! In addition to great football, there will be DJ, balloon artist, prizes and surprise guests!
